Mycelium supports the chain of life, preserving the memory of nature, while robots connect information and store the memory of technology. Organic and inorganic, natural and artificial—these two opposites coexist in a delicate balance, like Side A and Side B of the same record, each holding tension yet sustaining our world together. Work from the exhibition “Mushrooms vs Robots” by TokyoDex ▪️アーティスト：さめほし （Instagram：https://www.instagram.com/samehoshi/ ) ▪️タイトル：侵食 ▪️素材・技法：キャンバス・アクリル絵の具 ▪️サイズ：600×600mm 本作は、2点で1つのシリーズ作品になっています。 ひとつ目は、Mushrooms VS Robots という展覧会のテーマを聞いた時に真っ先に思いついた作品です。あたたかく湿った場所に胞子があれば繁殖ができるキノコ。その圧倒的な生命力を描きました。 そしてもうひとつの作品について、私は機械の中身が見えた時に1番テクノロジーと人類の進化を感じます。一見グロテスクな姿に見えますが、彼女たちは可哀想ではありません。なぜか？取り返しのつかない姿でも美しいからです。強くて可愛い少女のような"何か"を表現出来ていたら嬉しいです。 -------------------------- ▪️Artist: Samehoshi（Instagram：https://www.instagram.com/samehoshi/ ) ▪️Title: Erosion ▪️Medium・Technique: Acrylic on Canvas ▪️Size:600×600mm My piece consists of two works in a series. The first represents the initial image that came to mind when I heard the theme Mushrooms vs Robots. Mushrooms can propagate anywhere as long as there’s warmth, moisture, and spores—a symbol of overwhelming life force, which I sought to capture in this piece. The second work reflects my personal fascination with the inner workings of machines. I feel the greatest sense of human progress and technology when I can see what’s beneath the surface. While the figure may appear grotesque at first glance, I don’t see it as something to be pitied. Even in an irreversible form, there is beauty.
